The French Southern Territories is an overseas territory of France. It includes the islands of Ile Amsterdam , Ile Saint-Paul , Iles Crozet , Iles Kerguelen and les Iles Eparses de l’Océan Indien ( Bassas da India , l’Ile Europa , les Iles Glorieuses , l’Ile Juan de Nova and l’Ile Tromelin ) in the southern Indian Ocean. Included also is the Antarctic area of Adélie Land , though this claim is not recognized by the international community.
