132 languages are spoken in Sudan. The geographical distribution of these languages is complex, especially in the south of the country. The official language is Standard Arabic . The most widespread languages are: Sudanese Spoken Arabic
(15 000 000 speakers); Bedawi
(951 000 speakers along the Red Sea Coast); Dinka
(1 300 000 speakers in 5 forms) and Nuer
(740 000 speakers).
