Compiere - Compiere is a popular open-source system of software applications that provide enterprise resource planning (ERP), customer relationship management (CRM), supply chain management (SCM), tax accounting, and general accounting for the small and medium-size enterprise. Versions are available for Linux, Unix, Windows, and Macintosh operating systems. The name Compiere comes from the Italian word for accomplish.
Compiere is written in Java and uses the Java 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition (J2EE). The application system provides a browser-based graphical user interface (GUI) and, for more experienced users, a keyboard-only data entry option. The system is intended to work satisfactorily over Internet connections having modest bandwidth. Compiere supports multiple languages and currencies, can accommodate a variety of tax structures, and can perform parallel accounting in multiple ways (for example, cash method and accrual method).
