Demographics - The basic demographic selection factors on a list, chief among them for consumers; income, location, age, education, family makeup, length and type of residence and ownership of cars. For non-households, the chief demographic factors are classification, size, and location.

Demographic - A term derived from demos meaning population and graphein meaning to write or describe. Literally it means describing populations.

Demographics - Literally, the attributes of people in a particular geographic area. When used in reference to marketing, the term is often used to include habits or interests which are more properly called psychographics (See Psychographics).
