Enterprise Modeling - The development of a common consistent view and understanding of data elements and their relationships across the enterprise. This involves all the skills of any other approach to Data Modeling, but requires a broader perspective and an understanding of boundary-spanning requirements for Enterprise Data. This is a key component of the development of a Data Architecture, which is one of the four Enterprise Architectures (along with Business Architecture, System Architecture, and Application Architecture).
