gravity model -
(1) [geography] A model that assumes that the influence of phenomena or populations on each other varies inversely with the distance between them.
(2) [business] The idea that the probability of a given consumer visiting and purchasing at a given site is some function of the distance to that site, the site's attractiveness, and the distance and attractiveness of competing sites.
