International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) / International Organization for Standardisation (ISO) - definitions

ISO : Acronym forInternational Organisation for Standardisation. A European body founded in 1946 to set international standards in all engineering disciplines, including information technology. Its members are national standards bodies; for example, BSI (British Standards Institute). ISO approves standards, including OSI communications protocols and ISO 9000 standards.
