JVM - Java Virtual Machine - JVM is an abstract computing machine, or virtual machine. JVM is a platform-independent programming language that converts Java bytecode into machine language and executes it. Using a JVM, you can run Java code on any number of different computer platforms, including Macintosh, Windows 95, and Unix. JVMs read and execute Java statements one at a time.
