Metadata Repository - A metadata repository is a particular technological approach to enterprise data management, in which a common metadata model is deï¬ned in response to some business needs. The metadata is used as a sort of interlingua between data sources. Metadata repository systems typically include mapping tools from legacy data sources (typically, relational databases) to the metadata repository. This helps the organization maintain consistency and interoperability between its data sources.
