Processing Services

processing services - OWS Services that operate on Geospatial_ data and provide 'value-add' services for applications. They can transform, combine, or create data. Processing Services can be tightly or loosely coupled with other services, such as Data and Portrayal Services. Processing Services can be sequenced into a 'chain' of services to perform specialized processing in support of information production workflows and decision support. Examples include: Coordinate Transformation Services (CTS), Geocoder Services, Route Determination Services etc.
