Quality characteristic - (1) An identifiable aspect or feature of a product, process or service that a customer deems important in order to be considered a "quality" product or service. (2) A distinct attribute or property of a product, process or service that can be measured for conformance to a specific requirement. See Information quality characteristic.

Quality characteristic - A quality characteristic is tied to a requirement and is an inherent feature or property of a product, process, or system.
A requirement is a need, expectation, or obligation. It can be stated or implied by an organization, its customers, or other interested parties. An inherent feature or property exists in something or is a permanent characteristic of something.
