SDTS - [standards] Acronym for Spatial Data Transfer Standard. A data exchange format for transferring different databases between dissimilar computing systems, preserving meaning and minimizing the amount of external information needed to describe the data. All federal agencies are required to make their digital map data available in SDTS format upon request, and the standard is widely used in other sectors.
