Seed - A seed is a name that is placed on a mailing list, during the fulfillment process, that allows a list owner to monitor list usage. List seeds are also referred to as decoys.

Seeding - The insertion (by a list owner or user) of specific addresses into a mailing list to monitor or confirm: (1) that a mailing was executed at the proper time, or (2) the use (or illegal use) of a mailing list.
