The Falkland Islands are a British Overseas Territory. They are claimed by Argentina and are known in Spanish as Islas Malvinas. This name should not under any circumstances be used on letters addressed to Falkland Islanders unless your aim is to provoke. The islands of South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands are dependencies of the Falkland Islands.
