Uganda - Languages

46 languages are spoken in Uganda. The geographical distribution of these languages is complex. The official language is English External (mainly spoken as a second language by 1 000 000 people). Widely spoken languages include: Acholi External (746 796 speakers); Aringa External (588 830 speakers); Chiga External (1 391 442 speakers); Ganda External (3 015 980 speakers); Kenyi External (1 200 000 speakers); Lango External (977 680 speakers); Masaba External (751 253 speakers); Nyankore External (1 643 193 speakers); Rwanda External (532 692 speakers); Soga External (1 370 845 speakers); Swahili External and Teso External (999 537 speakers).
