The official language is French (120 speakers). There are 3 600 speakers of East Futuna and 7 500 speakers of Wallisian .
Address generally follow the pattern of addresses in France, but with some differences.
Houses tend not to be numbered, and addresses contain a road name, a village name and a district name in this way:
