Mailer - A mailer is a company that sends direct mail. A mailer often employs a list broker to assist with buying mailing lists and a service bureau to assist with the list processing necessary to conduct their Direct Marketing_ campaigns. The term mailer is sometimes used to refer to a marketer sending email or other direct communications.

Mailer - An entity that prepares and/or presents a mailing to the USPS. In some cases, a mailer is the agent for the actual owner of the mail.

Mailer - The organization that enters mail in the postal mail stream. For third class mail this includes over 750,000 establishments with permits; this is almost 1 of every 10 establishments in America. The mailing house is also sometimes called by this term.
