Server Cluster - A Cluster is a group of physical servers, which run front-end web server software and contain back end data base-type facilities. A Cluster can be as simple as two servers, one front end and one back end, but normally a cluster will have several servers. Clusters contain facilities for services such as load balancing and data replication. Clusters offer enhanced security, redundancy and enhanced performance and are a natural evolution to any successful complex web site or Internet-based application.
