The official languages are Spanish (3 483 700 speakers), Quechua (2 898 983 speakers of two different forms) and Aymará (1 785 000 speakers). Spanish is not as dominant as in other South-American countries and Indian-language addresses will be found in databases.
42 other languages are spoken. The most widespread of these are: Chiquitano (30 000 speakers) and German (160 000 speakers).
Personal names are built in the same way as in Spain. Please refer to the chapter on Spain for details.

Addresses are written in the following format:
Recipient name {thoroughfare type[]}Thoroughfare name[, ]house number SETTLEMENT
For example:
The address may also be written without the comma after the thoroughfare name.
When addresses are written in Spanish, calle, the Spanish word for street, is rarely written. The Spanish thoroughfare type, when included, is written before, and separately from, the thoroughfare name. It should be written with the first letter in lower case.
Addresses may also be found written in Quechua or Aymará.

This is written Casilla de Correo, or CC, or Casilla Postale, or Apartado Postale in Bolivia. Cajón Postal, "postal drawer", may also be found.
Bolivia currently has no postal code system.
