The official languages are French , English and Kinyarwanda (spoken by 98.3% of the population). There are a small number of Hima-speakers.

Any address written in a non-native language will be written in French or, increasingly, English. Deliveries are made only to post office boxes (Boîte Postale, or BP).
Though postal deliveries are only to mailing addresses, street addresses will be found for the use of couriers, visitors etc. As not all streets are named, these may often be descriptive and unstructured. Examples:
The postal service requests that addresses include the mobile telephone number of the recipient so that the delivery point can be clarified by SMS.
A table containing information about the relevant position of elements within address blocks can be acquired

Rwandan telephone numbers have no area code. All numbers (when called from abroad) have a length of 8 or 9 digits. The leading 0 needs to be dialled after the country code. Mobile numbers begin with 72, 75 or 78.
